Paul Joseph Lundell was born May 31, 1917 to Henry William and Kathryn Howe Arthur Lundell. He died Oct. 18, 1975 and is buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.

Dr. Lundell served with the U.S. Army in World War II and was stationed at Fitzsimmons General Hospital, Denver, CO.

Former city resident, wife die in air crash

Word has been received here of the death of Dr. Paul J. Lundell, 58, Denver dentist, a former Webster City resident, who was killed in a plane crash near Guadalajara, Mexico, along with his wife, Peggy, 57, and three California friends.

The wreckage of the plane, which had disappeared Oct. 18 on a flight from Manzanillo to Puerto Vallarta, was found on Saturday, Nov. 1st in the coastal mountains west of Guadalajara.

Other victims of the crash included Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Killian and Stephen Dikeman, 41, all of Huntington Beach, Calif. Dr. Lundell was reportedly part owner of the plane.

The wreckage was found at the bottom of a deep canyon. The pilot of a passing plane spotted the wreckage Saturday and a ground party was sent in.

Dr. Lundell, born in Webster City, was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. H.A. Lundell, and was graduated from Webster City high school and junior college, later getting his dentistry degree from the University of Iowa.

Survivors include four daughters; one son; six grandchildren, three brothers and one sister of which Arthur Lundell and Alvin Lundell reside in Fort Dodge.

Mass was reportedly scheduled for this evening with burial services scheduled Tuesday at Denver.
