Lt. Sidney London

 

MEN and WOMEN in SERVICE.

Sidney London, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam London, 3829 Jackson Street, has been commissioned a second lieutenant after completion of an officer’s candidate course at Fort Bennings, Georgia. Lieut. London was inducted into the army May 28, 1942, and served with the engineer amphibian command before going to officer’s school. He is a graduate of Moville High School and the University of Iowa.

Sidney London was born Mary 1, 1918 to Samuel and Fannie Epstein London. He died Aug. 8, 1944 and is buried in Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.

2nd Lt. London served in World War II with the U.S. Army 6th Armored Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
