Arnold M. Lillegard was born Mar. 12, 1908 to Michael A. and Lizzie M. Dingman Lillegard. He died Dec. 8, 1976 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Arnold served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was attached to a reconnaissance company of the 539th Amphibian Tractor Battalion.

Funeral services for Arnold M. Lillegard, 67, of Des Moines, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral home, burial at Graceland cemetery.

Mr. Lillegard died Wednesday morning in Des Moines. He had been in ill health the past 13 years.

Arnold Michael Lillegard, son of Michael and Elizabeth Dingman Lillegard, was born March 12, 1908, at Webster City where he was reared and educated.

He served with the U.S. armed forces during World War II.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Ward and the couple resided in Webster City where he engaged in carpentry work.

He retired about 16 years ago, and had since been living in Des Moines.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Charlotte) Thompson of Anaheim, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Mable Killian of Des Moines; one brother, Donald Lillegard of San Francisco, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and several sisters.

He was baptized in the Lutheran faith.
