Sgt. Alfred Raymond Leonard

 

 

Alfred Raymond Leonard was born May 14, 1919 to John L. and Mary J. Hofer Leonard. He died May 31, 1944 and was buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, MO.

Sgt. Leonard served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 762nd Bomber Squadron, 460th Bomber Group and was KIA when his plane crashed near Ploesti, Rumania as a result of enemy anti-aircraft fire. He was a gunner on B-24H #42-52528. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
