Alphonsus Lewis Leary was born Mar. 16, 1909 to W. A. and Rose McKlinneley Leary. He died Feb. 20, 1945 and is buried in the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Philippines.
Sgt. Leary served in World War II with the U.S. Army 136th Infantry, 33rd Division and was KIA. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and Distinguished Service Cross.
