The war department announced that Pfc. Martin K. Kruger, Jr., of Harris, was killed in action in the central Pacific.

Martin G. Kruger was born Apr. 4, 1917 to George M. and Trena Schneidermann Kruger. He died June 23, 1944 and is buried in First Baptist Church Cemetery, George, IA.
Pvt. Kruger served in World War II with the U.S. Army and was KIA on Saipan, Marianas Islands.[Note the middle initial descrepancy.]
