Milo Albert ‘Mike' Knutson was born May 6, 1927 to Manley and Olive Thompson Knutson. He died Dec. 30, 2009 and is buried in Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth, IA.

Sgt. Knutson served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Mile “Mike” Knutson, age 82, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Visitation is Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center in Ellsworth. Inurnment will take place this spring at Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth.

Milo Albert Knutson was born Friday, May 6, 1927, in Ellsworth to Manley and Olive (Thompson) Knutson. He grew up in the Ellsworth area graduating from Ellsworth High School. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. On December 28, 1952, Milo married Joyce Marie Vauthrin in Melbourne, Iowa. They farmed north of Ellsworth. Milo served on the Ellsworth Turkey Processing Board, Ellsworth Co-op Elevator Board, and Hamilton County Beef Producers Board. He was a Lincoln Township 4-H Leader and a trustee of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Milo is survived by his wife, Joyce Knutson of Ellsworth; two sons, Lynn (Joyce) Knutson of Story City and Jeff (Jane Todey) Knutson of Jewell; two grandchildren, Amy (Luke) Lesyshen of Waterloo and Troy Knutson of Jewell; a great grandson Colin Lesyshen.
