Stanley Merlin Johnson was born Apr. 12, 1920 to John M. and Ellen Dalva Johnson. He died May 25, 1995 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell, IA.
Pvt. Johnson served in World War II with Co. M, 176th Infantry Regiment and Co. E, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Division. He was seriously wounded in action in France and was awarded the Purple Heart award for “gallantry and bravery in action.”
