Robert Warren “Bob” Johnson was born Nov, 3, 1923 to Henry and Jenny Johnson. He died Oct. 14, 2016 and is buried in Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, WA.

Petty Officer Johnson served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Gentry (DE-349), a destroyer escort in the European and Pacific theatres—France, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines—escorting supply ships to safe harbor. He was a Yeoman, First Class, and the Captain’s “Talker”, relaying orders from the Captain to the crew, due to his clear and resounding voice.
