Everett John Johnson was born May 19, 1924 to John Edward and Martha Lucille Spanier Johnson. He died Jan. 11, 2015 and is buried in the Val Verde Memorial Gardens, Donna, TX.

Everett served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II as part of the 7th Service Regiment during the occupation of China.

EVERETT JOHN JOHNSON

McALLEN - Everett John Johnson, 90, left to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen. He was born to John Edward Johnson and Martha Lucille Spanier on May 19, 1924 in Williams, Iowa. Mr. Johnson married his wife, Dorothy Anne Hackbarth on August 21, 1945 in Vernon Township, Wright County, Iowa, and were happily married for 59 years. Everett was a WWII veteran having served in the Marine Corps as part of the 7th Service Regiment during the occupation of China and a life member of the VFW. He worked for the State of Iowa Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1987. Following his retirement, Everett and his wife, Dorothy, were Winter Texans for several years and moved permanently to Rio Grande Valley in 2002. He is now reunited with his parents and his beloved wife, who preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Norma P. (Johnson) Peddle of Chino Hills, California; daughter, Linda A. (Johnson ) Briggs of Richland, Washington; son, Larry E. Johnson of McAllen, Texas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Cremation services for Mr. Johnson took place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
