Sgt. Einar Sixton Johnson

 

Einar Sixton Johnson was born Aug. 13, 1915 to Einar E. and Karin Mathilda Kindberg Johnson. He died Oct. 24, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Mamre Cemetery, Stanton, IA.

Sgt. Johnson served in World War II with the U.S. Army H Battery, 59th Coast Artillery Regiment and became a POW and died as a POW in the sinking of the Arisan Maru. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
