Cpl. Dick D. Johnson

 

 

 

Dick D. Johnson was born in 1923 to Herbert Deane “Deane" and Rena Mae Arney Johnson. He died Mar. 24, 1945 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Liege, Belgium.

Cpl. Johnson served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 513th Parachute Infantry, 17th Airborne Division. He was KIA when the C-46D #44-77595 transport plane he was a passenger on was shot down by German artillery. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
