James Riley Jillson was born in 1920 to Wilfred Allen and Anna Sarah Douthit Jillson. He died Jan. 13, 1944 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Nettuno, Italy. He has a cenotaph in Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, IA.
Pvt. Jillson served with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division. He died in Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart.
