Ronald Alvin Jansen was born Jan. 10, 1922 to George and Bertha Hermina Ohden Jansen. He died Aug. 11, 1997 in Chagrin Falls, OH.

Lt. Jansen served with the Army Air Corps in World War II.

Ronald Jansen, 75, of Bainbridge Township, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, died Aug. 12, 1997 at his home. Memorial services were held Aug. 15 at the Stroud-Lawerence Funeral Home in Chagrin Falls.

Ronald Alvin Jansen was born on a farm near Kamrar. He received his early schooling in a country school near Kamrar and then graduated from Blairsburg High school. He also graduated from the University of Missouri. During World War II, Mr. Jansen served as a pilot in the Army Air Forces. He was married to Jacquelyn Hassell of Granite City, Ill., on Feb. 4, 1949. Ten years ago, he retired as a vice-president with Standard Oil Company of Ohio, his employer for 35 years. His wife preceded him in death in 1988.

He is survived by a son and daughter, Mark and Molly, both of Chagrin Falls; three grandchildren; two brothers, Luverne Jansen, Williams, and Kenneth Jansen, Walla Walla, Wash.; and one sister, Agnes Jenison, Belmond.

Mr. Jansen was involved with the American Field Service Program and served as a Chagrin Falls Village Councilman.
