Sailor Comes Home for Big Event

Home for an event just as big as the day he joined the United States navy, Raymond Hulce, 208 ½ Bluff Street, is shown at St. Vincent’s Hospital here with his wife and baby, Richard Ray Hulce. The new father arrived in Sioux City Sunday morning, just a few jumps ahead of the baby who let loose his first squall Sunday night. Hulce, whose timing apparently hasn’t deteriorated since he joined the navy, last month, is home on leave from the Great Lakes, Illinois, naval training station. With a grin as wide as the mouth of a 16-inch gun, Hulce said he came home for the event. He must return in a few days.
