Lt. Carl Hartzer, Jr.

 

 

Carl Hartzer, Jr. was born Dec, 15, 1920 to Carl (Sr.) and Clara Hoffman Hartzer. He died Jan. 18, 1946 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Lt. Hartzer served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 1st Air Commando Group and was MIA/FOD/KIA on a mission to bomb warehouses and railroads at Lundaug, Burma. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
