Melvin Loyd Huff was born July 12, 1925 to Kleber Leslie and Florence Irene Chase Huff. He died Jan. 20, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Cpl. Huff served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was lost on a combat mission to Cape Dom, Weak, northeast of New Guinea. He was a crew member of an A-20 (Havoc) bomber and was declared MIA/FOD. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
Cpl. Melvin Loyd Huff has a cenotaph in Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls, IA.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced that U.S. Army Air Forces Cpl. Melvin L. Huff, 19, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, killed during World War II, was accounted for on July 30, 2024. His name is recorded on the Walls of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial. A rosette will be placed next to his name to indicate he has been accounted for. His remains will be brought back to Iowa Falls on June 24, 2025 and burial is planned for June 28.
