Wayne Franklin Hollingshead was born July 4, 1927 to Floyd and Evelyn Bayley Hollingshead. He died Feb. 8, 1992 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Sgt. Hollingshead served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Wayne Hollingshead, 64, Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Webster City, died Saturday morning, Feb. 8, at the John J. Pershing Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Naber officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Graveside flag folding services will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 191. Visitation is at the Foster Funeral Home after 2 pm. today until time of service.

Wayne Franklin Hollingshead, son of Floyd and Evelyn Hollingshead, was born July 4, 1927 in South St. Paul, Minn. He was educated in Minnesota and Iowa. During World War II, he served with the United States Army in the European Theatre.

He married Velma Faulkner. They resided in Webster City. To this union, four children were born. The couple was divorced. On Oct. 12, 1990, he married Frances Crawford Tolliver at Corning, Ark. He had been employed at Webster City Iron and Metal, Morton Frozen Foods and in motel maintenance work in Oklahoma, Colorado and Iowa. He retired to Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He is survived by wife, Frances; daughter, Kimberly Bernard, Webster City; sons, Steven Hollingshead, Fort Dodge, Don Hollingshead, Webster City, Michael Hollingshead, Eagle Grove; step-children, Ernie Tolliver, Tennessee, Joyce Sullivan, Terry Tolliver and Larry Tolliver, all of Missouri, Ron Tolliver, California, and Connie Nickelson, Washington; 11 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Naber, Pueblo, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

He attended the Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
