Pvt. Bruce Dale Hennigar

 

KILLED AT IWO JIMA --Pvt. Bruce Dale Hennigar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Hennigar of Manly, who lost his life in the action which wrested Iwo Jima from the Japs was one of 7 brothers in the armed services of the nation. He served with the 3rd marine division. Four brothers are in the navy, 2 in the army. He also has 3 other brothers and 2 sisters at home.

Bruce Dale Hennigar was born Feb. 19, 1926 to Arthur Elwood and Hazel May Titus Hennigar. He died Mar. 7, 1945 and is buried at the Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Pvt. Hennigar served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division and was KIA on Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands.
