Mapleton Men With the Armed Forces
Pvt. Erwin Hass of the Artillery branch of the Army in Texas is visiting here with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Noethlich. At one time he was employed by the Haubrich Construction company in Mapleton.

Erwin Elwood Hass was born Jan. 31, 1914 to Nicholas and Clara Augusta Thede Hass. He died Nov. 22, 2008 and is buried in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Marshalltown, IA.
