Lt. Francis John Hammer

 

 

 

 

 

IN UNIFORM

William A. Shuminsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Shuminsky, 405 S. Wall Street and Francis John Hammer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hammer, 2714 First Street, recently received commissions as second lieutenants in the medical administrative corps at the Camp Barkeley, Texas, officer candidate school. Lt. Shuminsky is a graduate of the University of South Dakota and formerly was assistant county attorney here. He entered the service in November 1942. Lt. Hammer attended Wayne State Teachers College, Nebraska and entered the army in May 1943.

Lt. Francis J. Hammer left recently for Camp Barkeley, Texas after spending a six-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hammer, 2714 First Street. His mother accompanied him as far as Omaha on his return trip.

Lt. F. J. Hammer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hammer, 2714 E. First Street, has returned to Kearns field, Utah, after spending a week leave with his parents. His sister, Mrs. Donald Saunders, accompanied him to Salt Lake City. He is convalescent officer at the overseas replacement depot at Kearns field.
