MEN IN SERVICE.

Lawrence P. Heck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Heck, 2601 W. 19th street; Neil R. Grimsley, son of Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Grimsley, 113 Bluff Street; Melvin E. Tadlock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emory B. Tadlock, 2516 Ridge Avenue; Gene C. Maun, son of Teresa V. Maun, and Grange W. Huff, son of Mrs. E.P. Kilker, 1612 Main Street, have been graduated from the Navy service school at Great Lakes, Illinois and are in line for promotion as third class petty officers. Heck specialized in aviation ordnance, Grimsley and Maun in radio, Tadlock in signal corps work, and Huff completed the course for torpedo men.

Neil Richard Grimsley was born July 4, 1923 to Samuel and Loretta McGraw Grimsley. He died Oct. 7, 2009 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Petty Officer Grimsley served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
