Sgt. Esley Burdell Greiner

 

 

Esley Burdell Greiner was born Oct. 1, 1920 to Charles Thomas and Effie F. Doolittle Greiner. He died Sept. 29, 2012 and is buried in the National Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ.

Sgt. Greiner served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the 527th Engineering Co. in the Battle of the Bulge.

Esley Burdell Greiner, 91, of Prescott, Ariz. departed this life Saturday Sept. 29, 2012, at his residence in Prescott. He was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Blairsburg, Iowa to the late Charles and Effie Greiner.

As a WWII Army Veteran, Esley was a member of the 527th Engineering Company and served in the Battle of The Bulge. He was proud of his service to his country.

Esley is survived by his wife of 49 years Alice Greiner; daughter Ann Gelsie; sons, Neil and Dr. Dale Greiner; and step sons Ted, Jim, Robert and Dave Bruce.

A committal service with military honors will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix.
