Sgt. Stanley K. Gordon

 

 

STANLEY GORDON AWARDED PURPLE HEART MEDAL

Stanley Keith Gordon of Humboldt, son of Mrs. John R. Anderson, was awarded the Purple Heart Medal by Admiral Chester Nimitz, for wounds received in action at Enenetok in the Pacific. Platoon Sgt. Stanley Gordon, volunteered in the Marines, July 10, 1940, and took his basic training at San Diego, California. He served with the Marines nine months at Iceland, and at present is still hospitalized in Hawaii.
