Lieut. James A. Goodwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Goodwin, east of town, is serving as transport pilot in the European war theatre. The airplane he pilots carries injured men from the battlefields to England where they are hospitalized. Lieut. Goodwin recently experienced having a wing of his transport plane badly damaged by enemy gunfire. Lieut. Goodwin has been in service since February 19, 1942, and was home last July, before leaving for overseas.
