Staff Sergeant Robert E. Gleeson is spending a furlough with his mother, Mrs. B.W. Gleeson, in the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Sams, 4522 Manor Circle. Formerly stationed at Precipia, Monterey, California, he’s transferring to Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

S. Sgt. Robert E. Gleeson, son of Mrs. W.B. Gleeson and nephew of A.G. Sam, both of 4522 Manor Circle, is shown receiving the Croix de Guerre from French Gen. Koeltz at a base somewhere in Germany. Sgt. Gleeson is with the Ninth American army. According to information received recently by relatives here, Sgt. Gleeson was commissioned as a second lieutenant April 7, and now is inside Germany.
