Harold Eugene Gaster was born Sept. 23, 1934 to Guy Henry and Mary Elizabeth Bowman Gaster. He died Oct. 8, 1983.

Petty Officer Gaster served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Harold E. Gaster, 59, died Saturday afternoon at the Hamilton County Hospital following an apparent heart attack. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Raymond M. Roden and the Rev. David R. LaMaster officiating. Burial is to be at Graceland cemetery.

Friends may call at the Foster Funeral Home until 8 a.m. Tuesday at which time the casket will be taken to the church.

Harold Eugene Gaster, the son of Guy and Mary Bowman Gaster, was born Sept. 23, 1924, at Webster City and was educated here. During World War II he served with the United States Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific theater of action from 1943 to 1946.

May 29, 1948, he was married to Evelyn Balle at Fort Dodge and the couple lived in Webster City. For several years he and his father were employed by Fred Brisbin, a Hormel buyer, as truck drivers. For the past eight years he has been driving for Liquid Carbonic Company.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Cindy (Mrs. John) Tometich of Altoona; two granddaughters, Melissa and Elizabeth; his mother, Mary Gaster of Webster City, and a brother, Lloyd Gaster of Stratford. He was preceded in death by his father in 1966.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
