Sheldon, Iowa—William C. Gardiner of Sheldon just received word that his son, William Jr. has been commissioned a second lieutenant at the Edgewood arsenal, Maryland.

William C. Gardiner, Jr. was born May 12, 1906 to William and Elizabeth Shark Gardiner. He died Mar. 21, 1982 and is buried in Sunnyhill Cemetery, Adair, IA.
William served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
