Our Neighbors in the Services
Charles D. Gambs, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Gambs of Smithland, has been commissioned a second lieutenant upon completion of the officer candidate course at the infantry school at Fort Benning, Georgia. He enlisted in the army September 19, 1941, and served at Fort Ord, California, and Camp Roberts, California. He is a graduate of Smithland High School.
