Sgt. Norman Brown Funk

 

 

Norman Brown Funk was born Feb. 10, 1916 to Shelby Brown and Catherine Lois Myers Funk. He died Oct. 5, 1943 and is buried in Masonic Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.

Sgt. Funk served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 514th Bomb Squadron, 376th Bomb Group and was MIA/KIA as a crew member on a B-24 bomber on a bombing mission over Greece. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
