Duane R. Floy

 

RECEIVED DISCHARGE -- Mavis Floy, PhM 3/c, Clear Lake, received honorable discharged from the navy Aug. 22 at Corpus Christi, Texas, where she had been stationed at the U.S. Naval hospital the past 11 months. With a group of friends she will visit Mexico and points of interest in the south before returning home. She also plans to visit her brother, Duane R. Floy, at Wakeman general hospital, Camp Atterbury, Ind. Miss Floy was a WAVE for 15 months. She took boot training at Hunter college, New York City and hospital training at Great Lakes.

Her brother Duane, enlisted in the army in November 1945, took basic training at Camp Lauche, New Orleans. La., and from there was sent to Camp Beale, Cal., and then to Galesburg, Ill., where he served with the military police until hospitalized.
