KEITH FISHER, 19, KILLED IN ACTION IN SOUTH PACIFIC

Orlando Keith Fisher, S 2-c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Fisher of St. Louis, Mo., former residents of Webster City, was killed in action somewhere in the south Pacific area, according to word received here by his aunt. Mrs. Judd Whipple. Burial was made at sea.

Fisher was 19 years old. Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Bernard, U.S.N., and Neil and Danny at home, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Fisher of Teopa, Minn., also formerly of this city.

Orlando Keith Fisher, Seaman Second Class U.S. Navy - MIA/KIA

Orlando Keith ‘Keith’ Fisher was born in 1925 to Orley Denzel and Ethel M. Sagar Fisher. He died Oct. 24, 1944 (lost at sea) and is memorialized at the Manila American Cemetery, Fort Bonifacio, Manila, Philippines. He has a cenotaph at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Seaman Fisher was first reported as missing in action; later declared killed in action. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
