Robert Ferris Fenton was born July 16, 1914 to Otto and Gertrude Schlanbusch Fenton. He died Sept. 7, 2000 and is buried in Forest Hills Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Palm City, FL.

Robert served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

PALM CITY - Robert F. Fenton, 86, of Palm City died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart.

A native of Jewell, Iowa, he lived in the Palm City area for 52 years. He moved here from Whitefish Bay, Wis.

Before retirement, he was a real estate broker.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Stuart.

He was past president of the Kiwanis Club, Stuart and was on the board of directors of Indian River Community College, Fort Pierce.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Esther L. Fenton of Palm City; two daughters, Mary Jo Foster of Highlands, N.C., and Rachel A. Allamon and husband Jim of Winter Springs, Fla.; a son, Robert F. Fenton and wife Sarah of Palm City; two sisters, Ruth Hayes of San Clemente, Calif., and Connie Nevers of Phoenix; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Don Rossier will officiate.

Entombment will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
