The young people of the Carmel Reformed Church enjoyed a party Wednesday evening, held in honor of George Feekes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gradus Feekes, who leaves for the service next Wednesday.

George Feekes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gradus Feekes phoned home this week Wed. eve. to tell his parents he will be home on a furlough early in March.  He is stationed at Scott Field, Ill.

Stationed in Manila

CPL. GEORGE FEEKES
Cpl. George Feekes is stationed in Luzon about 30 miles from Manila.  He is in the Air Corps and works at a Supply Center where he makes out the menus for the entire base.  Prior to that he worked in a sales store.  He says he's kept busy and enjoys his work but doesn't expect to be home until spring.

George Feekes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gradus Feekes, who has been stationed in the Philippines for the past months is enroute home.

George Feekes was born Jan. 11, 1926 to Gradus Hull and Rena VanDenHull Feekes. He died Dec. 27, 2011 and is buried in Carmel Reformed Church Cemetery, Carmel, IA.
