Sharon Elling Fardal was born Sept. 11, 1926 to Marion Eugene ‘Eugene' and Bessie Dyvig Fardal. He died Dec. 19, 1952 and is buried in Lake Center Cemetery, Stanhope, IA.

Pvt. Fardal served with the 3008 Base Unit, Army Air Force.

S. E. Fardal Dies in D.M. Hospital

Sharon Elling Fardal, 26 died at 8:05 a.m. Friday at the Veterans’ hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient since Nov. 13. Cause of death was termed infectious hepatitis, inflammation of the liver.

He contacted the disease while he was a cadet in the air force.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the English Lutheran church preceded by a brief service at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. M. E. Suhr will officiate with burial in the Lake Center cemetery, near Stanhope. Military graveside services will also be held.

Sharon Elling Fardal, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Fardal, was born Sept. 11, 1926. The Fardal family lived in the Stanhope community but moved to Webster City 10 years ago when Mr. Fardal became county auditor.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Dyvig of Stanhope and Mr. and Mrs. John E. Fardal of Stanhope. He was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Eugene, Jr.
