Leland Dale Faktor was born May 17, 1921 to Louis and Rosa M. Sinkile AKA Rose M. CInkle Faktor. He died Apr. 18, 1942 and is buried in Bohemian Cemetery, Plymouth, IA. He was originally buried in China and re-interred in the Bohemian Cemetery. He also has a memorial marker in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, IA.

Cpl. Faktor served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 95th Bombardment Squadron and was a part of the Doolittle Raiders on Crew No. 3 (plane #40-2270) as an engineer/gunner and was killed in the Doolittle Raid over Tokyo. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart.
