Sgt. Richard Emerson Evans

 

 

 

Richard Emerson Evans was born Feb. 19, 1917 to Elias Burton and Mary Emma Jaycox Evans.He died May 25, 1981 and is buried in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa, FL.

Sgt. Evans served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.

Evans services held in Tampa

Word has been received here of the death of Richard E. Evans, 64, formerly of Blairsburg, who died suddenly at the New Orleans airport on May 25.

He was enroute to his home at Tampa, Fla., at the time of his death.

He was the son of the late Eli and Mary Evans of Blairsburg.

Survivors in this area include two sisters, Mrs. Russell Evans of Clarion and Mrs. Warren McCoskey of Webster City.

He is also survived by his wife, one son, Rick; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held May 29 at Tampa, with burial there.

He was a graduate of Blairsburg High School, and entered the U.S. Air Force, seeing service for 21 years.
