Iowa Honor Roll

Like the men pictured here on previous Sundays, these Iowans have given their lives for their country.  Each one was either killed in action or died in prison camp. The fourth line under each picture gives the area in which the man last served. The list will be continued in future weeks.

Dean Clyde Endres was born Dec. 20, 1924 to John O. and Alma Endres. He died Sept. 10, 1942 and has a cenotaph in Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, IA and is buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was initially buried in the Navy and Marine Cemetery #1, Tulagi, British Solomon Islands.

Petty Officer Endres served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was died in the performance of his duty and in the service of his country in the Tulagi Island, Solomon Islands in the Southwest Pacific.
