Pfc. Howard Ellison Succumbs to Injuries

Little Cedar -- Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ellison, farmers living north of town, received word that their son, Pfc. Howard Ellison, had died of wounds received in action.

Pvt. Ellison was graduated from the local high school with the class of 1938. He entered service in April, 1941, taking his first training at Camp Claiborne. He went overseas as a member of the famous 34th division in March 1942. He served in England, Africa and Italy.

While in Africa he was a member of the select guard and took part in many good fellowship parades. Later he was sent to Italy and was in front line fighting several months. He was wounded Sept. 17 and died later the same day.
