Arnt Sanford Egenes was born July 17, 1913 to He died May 27, 1952 and is buried in Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth, IA.

Pvt. Egenes served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II with the 90th Airdrome Squadron, A.T.C., A.A.F. Base Unit 1333.

Arnt Egenes Taken by Death

Arnt S. Egenes, 35, passed away early Tuesday morning at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines where he had been for the past week for observation. He had been ill for several months and complained of terrific headaches for the past month. An operation had been scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Military funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Union church and burial will be at the Homewood cemetery.

He leaves his wife, the former Fern Olson, two small daughters, and his mother, Mrs. Valen of Story City. Also one sister, Mrs. Inga Glider of Des Moines and four brothers, Edwin of Knoxville, Bernt of Montana, and John and Herbert of Story City.

Mr. Egenes, who was a barber in Ellsworth for more than five years, was a member of the Lutheran church and the American Legion and V. F. W.

The Ellsworth Funeral Home will be in charge.
