Sgt. Charles Raymond Duffy

 

 

 

Charles Raymond (Raymond) Duffy was born Jan. 18, 1915 to Charles A. and Cecilia Rose Kelley Duffy. He died Sept. 10, 1977 and is buried in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Williams, IA.

Sgt. Duffy served with the U.S. Army in World War II with Headquarters Co. 1138th Eng. Combat Group.

Obituary:

Williams—Funeral services for C. Raymond Duffy, 62, Williams, who died Friday evening at Trinity Regional hospital in Fort Dodge, were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Williams with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Juris-Grupe chapel in Williams with Father Clarence Kruse officiating.

A flag-folding ceremony was held at the graveside by the Williams American Legion post.

Mr. Duffy, a veteran of World War II, is survived by one brother, Edward Duffy, Webster City; two sisters, Mrs. George (Irene) Crannell and Mrs. Jack (Mary) Lowe, both of San Francisco.
