Pvt. James Tamminga and Pvt. Nick Draayer of Maurice will leave again on Thursday after enjoying a week’s furlough at their respective homes, and will report for further orders at Fort Ord, Calif. The boys have completed their basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif.

Pvt. Nick Draayer of Maurice arrived home on furlough April 13 and will leave again today, Thursday for his port of embarkation. He is the son of Gerrit Draayer of Maurice. His wife is the former Dorothy Kramer, daughter of Henry Kramer of Orange City and will make her home with his parents during her husband’s absence. A family gathering was held Monday night at the Draayer home in Nick’s honor.

Pvt. Nicholas Draayer, son of Gt. Draayer, entered the service on Dec. 4, 1944. He took his basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif. He had a 15-day furlough in April and shortly after that left for overseas service and is now stationed in the Philippines. His address is: 37780592, 276th Repl. SIOUX COUNTY BOYS MEET AT ZAMBOANGI

Pfc. Art Ennema and Pvt. Nick Draayer
Pfc. Arthur Ennema and Pfc. Nick Draayer had a reunion in Mindanao a few weeks ago when the above picture was taken. Arthur is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ennema and Nick a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Draayer. Nick is with the Heavy Weapons Company of the 3rd Battalion in the 41st Division, and Art is in the 1st Battalion of the Medical Corps.
