Dale Charles Dougherty was born Nov. 28, 1920. He died Aug. 3, 2014 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, IA.

Dale served with the U.S. Navy in World War II and was assigned to a highly classified group submarine tracking Japanese code.

Loren Franklin Dougherty was born Oct. 10, 1918. He died Mar. 5, 2006 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, IA.

Chief Petty Officer Dougherty in World War II and Korea, retiring after 20 years service. He was with a dive bombing squadron attached to the aircraft carrier Bunker Hill during WWII. He was on the Bunker Hill during numerous battles in the islands and when she was attacked and crippled by kamikaze air strikes.
