Pvt. Charles Everet Doty

 

 

 

Charles Everet Doty was born July 16, 1910 to Frank Miller and Lela May Quinn Doty. He died Sept. 28, 1995 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Pvt. Doty served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the First Armored Division in England, Ireland, Africa and Italy.

Charles Doty, 85, St. Helena, Calif., died Sept. 28, 1995, at St. Helena Hospital. Arrangements were made by Morrison Chapel in St. Helena. No funeral service will be held.

Charles Everet Doty, son of Frank M. Doty and Lela Quinn Doty, was born July 16, 1910, in Webster City. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1929. On Dec. 6, 1945, he married Blanche Forrester in Hiawatha, Kan. He worked in the building industry for many years in Los Angeles. He was a veteran of World War II, he served in the First Armored Division in England, Ireland, Africa and Italy. In 1975 he retired from the Los Angeles County Mechanical Department and moved to Vineyard Valley in St. Helena, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche Doty, sister, Jean Walters, Walnut Creek; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, and four sisters.

Dr. Doty was a member of American Legion Post No. 191 in Webster City for 46 years.
