Gus Dermand, who is serving on a destroyer which has been in the Adriatic sea, and who has been home on a four days’ furlough, left Saturday night for the Norfolk navy yard to rejoin the destroyer. His younger brother, Chris, now in the navy also and stationed at Davenport, was home while his brother was here. Gus had not been home for more than a year.

Seamen Gust and Christ Dermand, the former on duty in the Atlantic and the latter in training at Davenport, plan to leave Tuesday after a furlough in this city with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Dermand. Seaman Gust is aboard the same ship as Lt. Phillip Wilke, who returned to the United States to attend the funeral of his father, Wendell Wilkie.
