Petty Officer Lawrence James Denning

 

 

Lawrence James Denning was born Sept. 27, 1913 to William J. and May Foes Denning. He died Apr. 24, 1945 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, New York, NY.

Petty Officer Denning served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Frederick C. Davis (DE-136). He was MIA/FOD/KIA when his ship was torpedoed and sank with a loss of 115 men. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
