Pershing Den Hartog, son of Mrs. A. Den Hartog of Sioux Center, would be very pleased to hear from his old Sioux Center friends. Pershing left October 29th from Bellflower, Calif. where he made his home for the last few years with his brother and family Guys Den Hartog. He had been working in the shipyards. Pershing is now in aviation and will start school soon to learn the preliminary routine preparatory to actual flying. His address:

Pfc. Pershing Den Hartog arrived home last Tuesday evening on an emergency furlough to attend the funeral of his uncle, Mr. Jim Den Hartog, who passed away at his home near Hospers the past week. Pershing is stationed at Great Bend, Kansas, where he is a gas truck driver. He left again on Monday morning.
