Elmo Darrell Deets was born Feb. 14, 1921 to Benjamin F. and Anna Deets. He died Aug. 23, 2001 and is buried in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs, IA.
Petty Officer Deets served with the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the USS U.S. Grant.
