Paul De Jong was born Oct. 16, 1919 to Martin Gysbert “Bert” and Henrietta Johanna Verros De Jong. He died Dec. 6, 1942 and is buried in New Sharon Friends Cemetery, New Sharon, IA.

Pvt. De Jong served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. E, 126th Infantry Regiment and was KIA in New Guinea in the service of his country.
