Sioux Cityans Who Joined Army Are Still Together

Five Sioux City youths who enlisted in the army here on December 29 are still together at Tampa, Florida. One of them is William Crowe, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Crowe, 315 20th Street, who is spending a few days visiting his parents.

The other youths are Timothy Class, Harry Day, Orrin Davis and Walter Brink. Crowe is a Trinity High School graduate and the others, Central graduates.

All are assigned to the headquarters division of the Fourth Air Corps, Third Air Force.

Orrin A. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott J. Davis, route 1, has been promoted to first lieutenant. He is in the quartermaster corps, assigned to the air transport command at Camp Luna, Las Vegas, N.M.

MEN and WOMEN IN SERVICE

Orrin A. Davis, commissary officer, air transport command, Las Vegas, N.M. has been promoted from first lieutenant to captain. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott J. Davis, route 1, Sioux City. He is a graduate of Central high school and attended Iowa State College and the National Business Training School. He enlisted in the air corps December 29, 1941, and was stationed at Tampa, Fla. He took officers training course at Camp Lee, Va., and was assigned to Las Vegas December 23, 1942. Lilmar Davis, a brother, third class petty officer, is on a battleship.
